THREE dads who lost their daughters to suicide have met with the Prime Minister in their bid to push for suicide prevention to become part of the school curriculum.

3 Dads Walking, Andy Airey from Cumbria, Mike Palmer and Tim Owen attended 10 Downing Street on April 25 to meet Rishi Sunak alongside the MP for Penrith and the Borders, Dr Neil Hudson, who has been campaigning with them throughout their journey.

The three men forged a close bond when they met through the suicide prevention charity, Papyrus, following the loss of their teenage children - raising over £1m for the charity by trekking across the UK in the process

Dr Neil Hudson said it was a 'privilege' to bring the dads to number 10.

"Despite the Prime Minister's monumental workload delivering on domestic and international priorities, he graciously took the time to speak with Andy, Mike, Tim and me about their moving stories and about how they have channelled their emotion and grief into a campaign of hope to better protect our young folk from the tragedy of suicide.

"Our next step is to get safe and age-appropriate suicide awareness on school curricula, and we will be meeting Education Secretary Gillian Keegan next month to keep driving the momentum forward.

"Securing this meeting was a real highlight of my parliamentary service and I continue to be humbled by the 3 Dads' tireless campaigning on such an important issue," he said.
