Carlisle bare-knuckle boxer Danny Christie's latest fight will top the bill at a major event in Leeds next weekend.

Christie takes on former world champion Anthony Holmes at BKFC 40 Leeds.

The contest has now been promoted to the night's Main Event next Saturday evening.

It is further evidence of Christie's growing reputation on the bare-knuckle scene.

The fight's rise up the bill comes after the previous Main Event fight between Jamie Cox and Elvin Brito was shelved when Cox pulled out.

The Leeds light-heavyweight contest will be 38-year-old Christie's third fight in the BKFC scene and his biggest yet.

The Currock fighter defeated Terry Brazier and Darren Godfrey last year as he impressed fight experts.

He now prepares to take on Yorkshireman Holmes, from Castleford, who is a former bare-knuckle world champion in BKB TM.

He won the world middleweight title in 2021 by beating Welshman Daniel Lerwell, and defended it against American fighter Chad Kelly last summer.

Holmes has since switched to BKFC and defeated Darren Hendry in Newcastle last November.

At the same event Christie overpowered Bristol fighter Godfrey and was described as an emerging star on the bare-knuckle scene by fight experts.

Christie was recently named as one of the top ten light heavyweight bare-knuckle fighters in the world by the website Knuckletown.

He recently sparred with Tommy Fury ahead of the latter's much-hyped victory over Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia.
