SEARCH and Rescue teams in Cumbria are continuing their extensive search for missing man, Ben Gibson.

34 year old Ben Gibson, was last seen in the Workington area at 6pm on March 30. He is described as being 5ft 9, of large build, with short, mouse brown-coloured hair.

Police said that although Ben may be anywhere in the county, they are asking for people on walks up the fells and around lakes in the county to keep an eye out for Ben.

West Cumbria Search and Rescue have committed their efforts to finding Ben, their team members have been searching for missing Ben Gibson in the Ennerdale area along side colleagues from Maryport Rescue, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue, Cumbria Police, Specialist Search dogs and countless members of the public.

This was following a very large area search which included dogs, drones, boats, sonar and search technicians. Nothing was found in this specific search, and teams were stood down to return to their stations.

West Cumbria Search and Rescue are continuing the search to locate Ben Gibson. They are now asking anyone in the area of Ennerdale to please check CCTV or dash cam footage from the 30/03/23 to the 2/4/23.

West Cumbria Search and Rescue said: "Can we also ask members of the public that are out looking to please stay safe and not to attempt to walk mountain areas if you do not have the correct equipment and skills."

Ben who works for the NHS has received many messages across social media, they read:

"Hope you are found safe and well Ben, if your reading this get in touch with your family or colleagues, absolutely top bloke and paramedic I worked alongside at NWAS."

"A lovely, friendly and professional lad, who I worked with during Covid redeployment. Hope he is found soon. My thoughts are with his family and friends."
