A world-leading engineering and programme management firm has announced its partnership with a Cumbrian festival.

Amentum has announced a corporate partnership with Whitehaven’s most talked-about event of the year, Whitehaven Alive.

The company will be using the platform to showcase its regional team and support its socio-economic impact in the area.

Whitehaven Alive is set to be the biggest event of the year in Whitehaven, with a vibrant event village featuring 70 stalls, offering everything from delicious food to artisan candles and cheeses and global brands such as Porsche, with some of the biggest acts in the British music scene gracing the Mitie Main Stage such as Tinie Tempah, Jake Bugg, The Vaccines and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

The festival will be a celebration of music, lifestyle, and creativity from September 8-10.

Loren Jones, senior vice president/managing director with Amentum said: “Amentum are extremely proud to be the corporate partner for this years’ Whitehaven Alive event.

"Whitehaven is a fantastic town with strong industrial and community links.”

The partnership comes after the firm’s recent opening of its regional base in The Bus Station. Loren said: “We are delighted to be part of the local community with our team situated at the Bus Station and thrilled to be supporting such a brilliant event.

"We can’t wait to see what’s on offer from the local businesses and are really looking forward to seeing everyone there.

"Well done Whitehaven Alive – it’s going to be an amazing weekend!”

Festival founder Oliver Hodgson added: “We’re delighted to welcome Amentum on board with the 2023 festival, their desire to grow their presence in West Cumbria certainly aligns with our vision for the event.

“Our biggest aims with the festival are to give back, promote Whitehaven, its stunning harbour and provide a platform which local musicians and businesses can thrive off. We can’t host the event without them.”
