A DESPERATE woman is organising a search for her father who has been missing for four months - saying she maintains a 'little bit of hope'.

Chelsea Beaty’s father, Dean Beaty, was last seen on December 7, 2022, on Wigton Road, Carlisle.

Since then, Cumbria Constabulary has released two public appeals for information on his whereabouts. Dean is described as being 38, 6ft tall, of medium build, and having brown hair.

Chelsea said that since then, the police have conducted three searches for him by River Eden. Nothing has come back from these searches, so she is now organising a major search effort herself.

Speaking in a public police appeal in December, Dean’s family said: “Dean, you are not in any trouble. As a family, we all love and miss you and are extremely worried about you.

“Just let us know if you’re okay - a call, a letter or a text.”

Cumbria Constabulary’s Sergeant Dan Hindle said: "We are continuing enquiries to locate Dean in order to establish his welfare.

“Somebody must know where Dean is and we are appealing for any information, regardless of how trivial it may seem.

“We'd like to thank those members of the public who have already provided information, including possible sightings, to the police.

“We'd ask people to review any CCTV or dashcam footage they have if they think they may have seen Dean.

“We would also ask Dean, if he sees this appeal, to contact the police or his family to let them know he is safe.”

Chelsea said this week: “My family have done endless amounts of searching for him, but Carlisle is a big place.

“I know something has happened, nobody is missing for this long and he doesn't venture far to not be found nearly four months later.”

She added: “A woman said there could’ve been a possible sighting, there’s no camera sighting, it was near Bargain Booze on the Raffles parade on Wigton Road.

“I finish work today for two weeks so I’m going to plan it during these two weeks, my family and friends have been doing little searches, but I am going to plan a larger public search.

“I'm not handling it well at the minute, it's a lot to take in but I’ve still got that little bit of hope.”

Chelsea said anyone who wants to know more and to get updates on the date of the search should visit her Facebook profile and can get in touch with her there.

The police said information can also be given to them via 101.
