A MAN has appeared in court charged with rape.
Jake Simpson, 29, of Duke Street, Workington, did not enter a plea to a charge of raping a woman over the age of 16, when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court.
The offence is alleged to have taken place in Workington, between March 1, 2016 and May 1, 2016.
The defendant will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on April 17. He was granted unconditional bail.
