A PROGRAMME designed to raise awareness of social action in the community will be celebrating the success of its school participants at the end of this month.

Since September 2022, Cumbria Youth Alliance has worked with eight schools throughout Cumbria and 35 local businesses to promote social action within the community over issues such as reducing anti-social behaviour and youth unemployment.

Cumbria Youth Alliance is inviting the public to attend and celebrate what has been a successful collaborative effort showcasing innovation with youngsters very much at the forefront.

A spokesperson from the organisation said: "It’s the final countdown to Cumbria Youth Alliance’s Call to Social Action Celebration Event on March 30 at Carlisle racecourse.

"Each winning Social Action project, from 8 schools across Cumbria, will have the chance to pitch in front of over 300 people to be crowned County Champion.

"It’s going to a fun-filled day with lots of activities and opportunities to meet new people and connect with supportive Cumbrian Businesses," they said.

The event will run from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
