A Copeland takeaway has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Anthonys Chippy, a takeaway at 78 Main Street, Distington, Cumbria was given the score after assessment on February 2, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

For the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage they were found to be Generally Satisfactory. 

For the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene they were found to be Generally Satisfactory. 

For the system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future they were found to be Generally Satisfactory. 

It means that of Copeland's 65 takeaways with ratings, 30 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
