A popular club event will be returning to raise money for charity.

The Annual Metal Detecting Rally, organised by Brampton & Longtown Rotary Club, will be held on Sunday, April 2 from 10am until 4pm.

With the return of the event, the club is hoping to repeat last year’s success when one item found was a medieval copper alloy enamelled mount from between the 12th to mid-14th century, which has since been donated by the finder to Tullie House Museum.

The event will be hosted on a site near Warwick on Eden which has not been detected before.

The Metal Detecting event raises funds in aid of charities and good causes supported by Rotary.

Organiser of the event Peter Sedgwick said “Bookings for the event are going well, and there are so many good causes out there that Rotary wants to help.

“It’s great that our Annual Metal Detecting rallies have always been well supported, and of course, we hope to repeat last year’s success with some interesting finds.”

Bookings can be made in advance or on the day.
