People from all across Cumbria are being invited to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight and Carlisle International Women’s Day next week.
One of the highlights will be a bring and share lunch on Wednesday, March 8, to celebrate international women and their friends living in Carlisle at Tithe Barn from 12pm.
As well as food, the event organised by Carlisle One World Centre, Carlisle Fairtrade Group and Carlisle International Women’s Group will also feature art, music and dance.
On March 9, the fairtrade and climate activist Push Krishnamurthy and long time Keswick-based campaigner Joe Human will speak at the University of Cumbria’s learning gateway, Fusehill St.

Both men are inspirational speakers and bring a wealth of personal and organisational experience on both Fairtrade and climate change.
This is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
Push is travelling and meeting with groups and people of all ages all over Cumbria next week.
On March 10, Push will speak to students and their teachers at 10am in James Rennie School.
