PENRITH couple Pete Wade and Bex Winsland chose a relaxing break in Dubai for their honeymoon after dancing into the early hours after their wedding day.

The couple met through mutual friends and just a few years later, Pete, 30, owner of Wade & co. Barbers knew Bex, 28, was the one and proposed at North Coast 500 at Balnakeil Bay on July 27, 2021.

Bex, manager at her family-run hotel in Grasmere, 'The Grasmere Hotel', said: "Pete's stag was in Edinburgh for clay Pigeon shooting and my hen was in Liverpool for a Mamma Mia themed brunch."

Finally, the day arrived for the couple to get married at the Hidden River Barn in Carlisle on January 21, 2023.

Bex said of the day: "Our theme was winter elegance with a touch of rustic.

"My wedding dress was from Eden wedding boutique and was a layered tulle and satin dress with pearl detail.

"I made sure everyone I hold dear was close to us and had important roles as I walked down the aisle.

"I had my older sister Charlotte as my matron of honour and my best friend Lauren as my maid of honour, while Pete's best man was his older brother Joe Wade and his friend Gregor.

"Our rings were also very special to us as we returned to Rox in Edinburgh, where Pete bought my engagement ring.

"Pete's was a bevelled platinum band and mine was a half-eternity diamond band."

"After the wedding, my dad used his Aston Martin Vantage to transport us to our reception.

"About 80 guests joined us for a champagne reception in the barn at 2pm, followed by a meal at 3pm of Italian sharing platters.

"We then cut our three-tiered cake of white chocolate and raspberry sponge, chocolate and orange sponge and ginger and cinnamon caramel sponge. It was also covered in Swiss meringue decorated with gold leaf and pearl.

"After the delicious food, we had our first dance to Bring It On Home To Me by Sam Cooke, provided by Furious Styles Band of Burnley.

"We also had Richie Todd as a piper and treated to a lovely song by Pete's dad.

"Following our first dance as husband and wife, we then played our Spotify playlist into the wee small hours."

"Everything was great on the day, but we think the best part was the speeches."
