EMERGENCY servies are responding to a road traffic collision this morning (Friday January 27). 

Crews from Carlisle West Fire station and Brampton Fire Station were called out after a lorry overturned near Brampton. 

Crews cut through the windscreen of the lorry to help to driver get out and before being assesed by health care professionals.

News and Star: Cumbria Police have said: "Police are currently dealing with a serious collision on the A69 by the Brampton roundabout. We currently have a road closure in place between Brampton Roundabout and J43.

"Please consider alternative routes and sorry for any inconvenience caused."

A spokesperson for Carlisle Fire and Rescue explained: "At 06.30 today we attended an RTC with Brampton fire station on the junction of the A69 and the A689 nr Brampton.

"A lorry had overturned on the roundabout and crews cut out the windscreen to let the driver walk out and be assessed by the north west ambulance service."
