A 120-DAY booze ban has been handed to a Carlisle man after he admitted assaulting a police officer.
Gary Ferguson, 32, committed the offence of assaulting the emergency worker by beating him on January 23 in Carlisle, the city’s Rickergate court heard.
As well as imposing the alcohol abstinence and monitoring order, magistrates told Ferguson, of Stonegarth, Morton, that he must complete up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity as required by the Probation Service.
He must also pay the officer he assaulted compensation of £150. The defendant, who was represented by defence lawyer Anthony Wilson, must pay prosecution costs of £85.
