ORGANISERS of the Mighty Boof festival in Whitehaven have announced this will be their last year of running as they join the Whitehaven Alive team.

This years Boof Festival will be the last for for the foreseeable while the team concentrate on other event's they are involved in such as Whitehaven Alive.

Organisers are billing the last festival the 'Best of the Boof' and promise to bring back old favourites as well as new additions.

Mighty Boof Promotions and Events have been running event in Cumbria for 17 years, but now they prepare for one last event.

Danny Maudling, from Mighty Boof Promotions and Events explained what we can expect from the final boof, he said: "You can expect what the Boof has always brought, headline and household names backed up with the best up and coming artist and local talent, as it is our last one for now there will be headline favourites gracing the stages"

Danny explained why this boof will be the last, he said:"I think the time is right for the Boof as a festival to go on ice for now, they always say you know when it’s time.. and it is time."

"We have had some fantastic times doing the festivals and that won’t stop for our team as we are now bringing you Whitehaven Alive along with Oliver Hodgson, we form The Alive Entertainment Group, it is exciting to be involved with a brand new event and we are very keen to put all our time into building this event and watching it grow. We have some really exciting plans for September coming too."

Danny continued: "The past 17 years has been better than I could have ever imagined it would be doing The Boof we have had ups and downs along the way but I wouldn’t change it for the world, it’s been a amazing journey and that isn’t ending, just evolving all the time"
