CARLISLE United have announced their third signing of the January transfer window with 19 year old John-Kymani Gordon arriving at The Blues from Crystal Palace.

The promising forward has joined Paul Simpson's side on a loan deal from the Premier League club until the end of the season.

Using Transfermarkt stats, we took a look at what John-Kymani Gordon will bring to the Blues.

The traditional measure for any striker, yound or old is goals and for Carlisle's newest signing, finding the back of the net has not been a problem this season.

Gordon scored 11 times in 8 games in all competitions at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign, including two hat-tricks.

These performances earned him September's Premier League 2 Player of Month award and afforded him 5 appearance on the bench for the Palace first-team.

In the 2020/21 Gordon played a part in the Eagles U-23's promotion from the Premier League 2 Division 2, scoring twice in 11 appearances.

Last season, the newest Blue also scored three times in 23 appearances for Paddy McCarthy's side as the Palace youth side finished 5th in the Premier League 2 Division 1.

Gordon also has the ability to play on the left-wing, making him a useful attacking option for Simmo.

John-Kymani Gordon comes in at a time where United's attacking options are depleted with Ryan Edmondson still on the sidelines.

Whilst his impact on The Blues is yet to be seen, it is clear that Carlisle has beaten off interest from close rivals and League One teams to secure the talents of a prolific and dynamic young striker.
