Wire Fence said it’s important we don’t forget about our four-legged friends during the season – especially ones that don’t have the luxury of a loving family to support them during harsh winter months.
The business donated £214 to the rescue kennels, along with 100 kilograms of dog food to their pet food bank.
B.A.R.K provides temporary refuge for unwanted and stray domestic animals. Wherever possible, they try to re-home them. Their area of operation is north and south of the Scottish Border, although they will take animals in from all areas.
This generally means within about 60 miles of the kennels – although they have had animals in from as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as London.
Jan Ross, kennel manager, said: "Thank you so much, such brilliant news. We also run a pet food bank and last week alone we fed almost 400 meals. Such a sad time but this donation will make a huge difference to so many animals."
