Chester the cat is currently a resident at Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, and he urgently needs your donations to help fund his specialist ear surgery.

“Chester had developed a severe ear infection which had been left untreated by his owners.

He had started to visit his neighbour’s garden which offered him more shelter than his own and they soon realised that he needed veterinary care for his ear.

Working with the RSPCA it was clear that the owners were unable to provide the necessary care for Chester, and he was ultimately signed over to the care of Oak Tree Animals’ charity.

Unfortunately for Chester, the ear infection has gone on for so long, he now needs specialist surgery to remove his ear and entire ear canal.

The surgery is estimated to cost approximately £2,000.

He has been in a lot of pain with his ear leaking blood and pus, but luckily the treatment has a very high likelihood of success with little or no further intervention required.

News and Star: “Despite his discomfort Chester has won the hearts of our team and is always up for a cuddle” Gina Antonacci, the Small Animal Team Leader at Oak Tree, said.

“We know he will make a wonderful forever friend when he recovers.”

This winter the Charity has already seen a large increase in the number of people needing their services due to the rise in the cost of living.

So far this year, the Charity has helped over 4,300 animals, which is much more than the 2,600 animals helped last year.
