POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A689 Carlisle bypass, off Kingmoor Road, on the evening of Wednesday, December 21.
The pedestrian - a man - was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with life-changing injuries after the collision, which happened at about 8.10pm.
The car involved was a Vauxhall Insignia.
Officers are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw a man walking on that stretch of road in dark clothes up to an hour before the incident.
