WORKINGTON AFC chairman Phil Norman has said it has been 'fantastic' to see club banners at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Eagled-eye viewers will have spotted the Workington and Workington Reds banners at a number of World Cup matches.

Carlisle United have also been represented at the World Cup, with a number of fans also showcasing their support for the Blues with personalised flags.

Most recently, the flag of the Reds has been seen flying at England's round-of-16 game against Senegal at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al-Khor.

In this photo, attentions are diverted from presenters Kelly Summers and Jermaine Jenas and onto the Workington Reds flag that is draped over the stand. 

Speaking about the club's appearances on national television and at the winter tournament, Workington AFC chairman Phil Norman said: "It's fantastic to see our name out there and its also fantastic to have our name advertised."

Workington AFC have been represented by a number of fans, including members of the Reds Independent Supporters Club, with Phil also expecting reds' flags to be on show at England's quarter-final clash with France on Saturday.
