A ROAD was closed near Penrith yesterday following a public report that a power line had come down across the A686.
Police were called at 7.20pm yesterday, December 8 after a member of public reported a power line down across A686 at Edenhall turn off.
Police closed the road in both directions
Electricity North West cut the power to the line at 7.50pm,affecting 204 customers in the area, however have since restored power.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: "Yesterday evening at 7.30pm in Penrith, we received reports of a power cut affecting 204 customers due to a fault with an overhead power line.
"We responded immediately and after carrying out repair work, engineers were able restore supplies at 11.32pm."
The road was not fully reopened until around 10.50pm.
