For this Nostalgia edition we will be taking a look back to the late 1950s.

A lot has changed in Cumbria and the rest of the world as we are now over 60 years from this era.

We hope that you enjoy this look back at life in Carlisle at this time as much as we have.

Our first photo shows horses carrying people dressed as Roman soldiers to mark the 800th anniversary of the city.

Whilst the second shows Queen Elizabeth ll inspects members of the guard in Court Square, Carlisle, during a visit to the city.

We can also see a Young Farmers Ball at the County Hotel in 1957 and the Upperby Football team that year.

Our final photos show the Border Regiment at a ceremony in Carlisle in 1959.
