I HAVE no idea, at this early stage, how Rishi Sunak’s premiership will work out.
However, unlike Stephen Blease (The Cumberland News, November 4), I do not damn him on grounds of wealth.
For those on the breadline, the difference between Sunak’s family wealth of £730 million and Starmer’s £7.7million will be a total irrelevance.
And we mustn’t forget Blair’s reputed £50 million.
No doubt Mr Blease is ‘touched’ by the frequent BBC interviews with those who must choose to either ‘eat or heat’.
Only the most callous would deny that such households exist and always have.
Is he not worried about the journalistic credibility of these interviews?
They invariably feature those who have enjoyed many a hearty meal; an insult to viewers’ intelligence and the cause of alleviating poverty.
