FIVE residents will benefit from £1,500 each to kickstart their career.
The Training Well employment grant, provided by Well Whitehaven, will help with the cost of employment led training programmes.
Residents aged 16-30, who live in Mirehouse, Snebro, or Corkickle, in Whitehaven, can apply for the grant. From hair and beauty, to plumbing, childcare, and personal training, the money can be used to fund a range of career training routes.
Grant applicants will be assessed based on financial need, and funds must act as a contribution towards course costs, commuting, and accommodation.
Luke Richardson, Chair of Well Whitehaven, said: “These grants will pay for training that it’s currently difficult to find funding for.
“The fund is a brilliant incentive for young people to take the right steps into employment, and access training they may not have otherwise had.”
To apply, contact the Well Whitehaven team at wellwhitehaven@copeland.gov.uk for an application form.
