Emergency services were on the scene after a driver in her 80s crashed right next to a town centre sandwich shop.
A white VW Polo crashed just outside the Upper Crust on Duke Street in Whitehaven.
Police and the North West Air Ambulance Charity attended the scene.
Duke Street was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Police were called at 2pm
to a report of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a VW Polo outside Upper Crust in Duke Street.
"The driver – a woman in her 80s – was treated at the scene by paramedics.
"The driver was the only person involved/injured in the incident."
The driver's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
