POLICE in Scotland have confirmed that a man died in a house fire near Annan.
Officers were called to a report of a fire on Lady Street, Brydekirk, Annan which happened around 9.40am on Monday, October 31.
Detective Constable James Kirkpatrick of Dumfries CID said: "Emergency services attended, however a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Formal identification has yet to take place.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.”
