House prices in Carlisle have gone up by an average of over £3,000 in the month of August, according to figures from the Land Registry.
The latest data from the government department reveals that in August average house prices in Carlisle reached £170,133.
This was up from £166,346 in July, representing over a 2.3 per cent increase. In the last 12 months it has risen by 12.5 per cent.
All types of housing saw an increase in July.
Detached houses were up to £290,710 from £283,630.
Semi-detached houses were up to £173,960 from £170,239.
Terraced houses were up to £132,682 from £129,771 and flats were up to £90,574 from £88,725.
Despite the rise in prices this month, Carlisle is still well below the UK average with typical property value in the nations reaching £295,903 in August.
In cash terms, the average house price in August was £35,473 higher than a year earlier with house price growth accelerating to 13.6 per cent in August.
Prices were up by 0.9 per cent month on month.
