NORTHERN Rail are advising passengers not to travel from Carlisle on services to Haltwhistle and Appleby.
Whilst replacement busses have been in operation since the disruption of caused by the derailment of a train on October 19, the rail operator has said not to travel today (October 23) as they have been unable to secure replacement buses to cover the line.
Northern Rail have apologised for the disruption that has been caused - refunds are available on purchased tickets.

Network Rail have also said passenger lines from Newcastle to Carlisle could remain closed for 'several weeks' as a result of the derailment.
Work begun to extract the powdered cement out of the three of the fully derailed wagons yesterday (October 22), of which two currently remain in the River Petteril.
A massive crane is needed to lift the wagons - this is planned for install the middle of next week, with lifting due to start on October 29.
