A CARLISLE wood is being transformed into 'Alice in Horrorland' to mark Halloween this year with a fright night.

Oak Tree Animals' Charity are preparing the night and promise: "If you go down to the woods today, you’ll be sure of a big surprise…"

The event will take place on Friday October 28 at Blackburn Woods in Wetheral, which is being transformed into Horrorland, "a place of nightmares!"

For one night only, you can venture into Horrorland and join Alice, The Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter too for a scary interactive tour.

Oak Tree said: "Tread carefully as you go and keep your wits about you… You don’t know what will be lurking behind you!"

The night will include spooky-themed refreshments, along with other Halloween themed activities, they added.

Organisers are recommended this event for children aged 12 or over, all children younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. This will one of the very few events where dogs will be unable to attend.

The tours start at 6.30pm and last approximately 20 - 30 minutes, the tickets are priced at £10.

However, if this event sounds too scary for you, Oak Tree Animals' Charity said it is also running a Granny Haggard’s Children’s Trail from October 22 to 30.

All of the money raised at the events will help animals both at Oak Tree and throughout the community.
