Readers have responded to new plans to open heat banks in Cumbria which could soon help those struggling with heating bills.
Heat hubs could be set to open in Cumbria, following their launch in the city of Glasgow and the Greater Manchester area, amongst others.
Warm banks are introduced by councils and community groups across the country, using public buildings as somewhere warm and safe for people to go to if they are unable to heat their home.
Here's what you had to say.
Tania Charters said: "Been able to have a roof over your head with heating, food and water should be everybody's right but it's fast becoming a luxury that some can not have."
John Bell said: "Brilliant idea for the pensioners who are the ones who are really struggling, more should be done to help them."
Emsy Lou Barnes said: "It's bad enough we need food banks but heat banks is just a disgrace. Being able to eat and stay warm are fundamental I can't believe we are having to do this in this day and age. It's a shocking state of affairs."
Denise Poland said: "Absolutely shocking that people, especially the elderly, have to go out in the cold to get to a heat bank to keep warm."
