LEADING livestock auctioneers Harrison & Hetherington has announced that this year’s Borderway Agri Expo will be livestreamed with noted livestock commentators Libby Clarke, Andy Frazier and Scott Brown.

Borderway Agri Expo, which takes place on Friday, October 28, will this year have a trio of guest commentators, with the commercial cattle and sheep classes going live to allow supporters from all over the world to tune in.

Organisers H&H first trialled livestreaming at UK Dairy Expo back in March 2022 with over 7000 people tuned in from as far afield as the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Libby Clarke from Springfield Farm, Lurgan, Northern Ireland, is a fourth-generation farmer who runs a commercial beef enterprise, as well as pedigree Shorthorns and Charolais. Libby also owns Joyce Clarke Estate Agents which specialises in property and farm sales. Libby took over the role of Balmoral Show’s chief commentator from her late father, Tom, when the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society moved to their new showground in Balmoral Park.

Libby commented: “I am delighted to be involved with Agri Expo which is widely regarded as a flagship event, promoting all that is good within the agricultural sector. I consider it an honour to be asked to participate and am very much looking forward to looking round the stock and catching up with people.”

Andy Frazier is the voice behind the Toplines and Tails podcast which covers all things livestock and showing in the UK and globally. Andy is no stranger to making conversation and has twice commentated the Royal Highland Show. Andy will commentate on the cattle, he said: “I am delighted to have been invited. It’s fantastic that Agri Expo is going to be livestreamed across the TV this year.”

Covering the sheep classes is Scott Brown from Midlothian, with a commentating CV including the Royal Highland Show and, more recently, RHS TV. Having first got into commentating back in 2008 at his local Dalkieth Show, Scott explained, “I really enjoy the craic when commentating and am really looking forward to Agri Expo. It’s nice to see some level of normality returning to the agricultural shows.”

H&H Managing Director, Scott Donaldson, said: “Livestreaming this year’s Agri Expo is a huge step forward for the event. In addition to the thousands who pass through the doors to visit Agri Expo, we find we have a huge online following on the day of the event.

“Livestreaming allows those that can’t be with us in person to tune in and follow the event throughout the day, and this will include all classes. Given the reputation of the event and calibre of livestock that are entered, it is only right we get the best people for the job, and I know that Libby, Andy, and Scott are all extremely experienced in this field and will do each class justice.”

Borderway Agri Expo is one of the largest events in the UK Agri industry, showcasing the best quality beef cattle and sheep, the latest developments in farming practice, breeding, genetics, machinery, equipment, technology, environmental issues, livestock marketing and export opportunities.

It is now known to be a true celebration of the very best British Livestock, and the farmers, breeders and stockmen who look after them.
