A MAN was arrested in Carlisle city centre at the weekend after reports of a theft.
The report was of a theft from a shop in the area of English Street on Saturday, October 8.
Cumbria Police said that a 49-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of using threatening behaviour to cause distress, two counts of common assault, and five counts of theft from a shop.
He has been released under investigation.
