Cumbria Pride takes place this weekend and North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust will be joining the celebrations.

This year, the event takes place on the Caldew Riverside (Lower Viaduct) Car Park, Viaduct Estate in Carlisle.

NCIC will have a stand at the event where you can find out more about job opportunities at our Trust and sign up to become a member.

Amanda Sutton-Heaton, chair of our LGBT+ staff network group, Lisa Robinson, Equality and Diversity Co-ordinator and William Miskelly, Deputy Lead Governor, will be present on the day to offer advice, sign you up as a member or hand out some goodies.

Their sexual health teams will also be there along with the Viral Hepatitis C team. A van has been booked so Hepatitis C testing can be carried out on site.

A spokesman for Cumbria Pride said: “Cumbria Pride started with just around 50 invited people attending in 2009, and since then it has grown and grown. It was amazing to move the event to the city centre, seeing the Pride flag flying from the Town Hall.

“But Cumbria Pride continued to grow, growing too big for the town. Our 10th anniversary held in Carlisle Castle was absolutely fantastic an amazing celebration of diversity and unity … but now we've outgrown the Castle too.

“We met with Carlisle City Council back in February who were immensely helpful, and found a perfect venue for us. Large enough so no need for tickets! Flat surface to be more accessible! And close to town to make it easy for everyone to get to.

“We hope you can all come and join us on Saturday at Caldew Riverside (Lower Viaduct) Car Park, Viaduct Estate, Carlisle.”

The family friendly event takes place between 12pm and 6pm and is free.
