Carlisle United supporters paid tribute to the Queen - and saluted the new King - at Brunton Park.

The home game against AFC Wimbledon was the first chance for Blues fans to show their respects to the Royal Family at a home game since the death of Elizabeth II.

Supporters took part in a minute's silence after the two teams had taken to the pitch.

That was followed by a rendition of the National Anthem.

Fans joined as the words 'God Save The King' were sung at Brunton Park for the first time in 70 years.

It was part of United's tributes to the Queen which also included players and staff wearing black armbands, and a changed matchday playlist over the PA system.

The Blues' matchday programme also featured an image of the Queen on the cover, while further tributes to Her late Majesty were announced to the crowd before the pre-match tributes.

And fans offered a further tribute to the Queen by breaking into applause in the 70th minute of the game - marking her 70-year reign.

Carlisle then went on to win the match 2-1 - and there were happy scenes in the stands at the full-time whistle...
