Waterstone's in Carlisle are holding a book launch for 'Love, Politics and Possibly Murder' on Thursday, September 29th at 7pm.

The book is written by author, Jane Ions, who used to write a weekly column for the News and Star in Carlilse.

Her first novel, 'Domestic Bliss and Other Disasters' was shortlisted last year for the Comedy Women in Print Prize, along with Mel Giederoyc's novel 'The Best Things'.

The book was also nominated as one of Times Radio’s books of the year.

Her new book 'Love Politics and Possibly Murder' will be available to buy from Waterstones and Amazon.

Cathy Rentzenbrink read the book and said ‘I loved your book which brightened up my life no end. I laughed out loud so hard that I frightened the cat. I think you are a wonderful writer. 

Jane has had a varied career including writing for the satirical magazine Punch, various national papers and even a short spell as a teacher.

Jane will give a short talk on the trials of becoming a published author and will be chatting to the manager of the store, Alli Rowe, before answering any questions from the audience.

Tickets are available from Waterstone's on Scotch Street in Carlisle and cost £3 with the entrance fee redeemable against purchase of the book.
