Someone else said: "Carlisle shopping is dire these days! I miss Debenhams especially. Then BHS too. Christmas shopping be online for a lot of folk."

6 H&M

"H&M, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams, Ann Summers, a lot of good shops have all gone - it's so sad," one reader said.

The days when it was a good day out to go shopping in Carlisle as opposed to what we have been left with now," they said.
