"The decision to sell was not an easy one but after giving it a lot of thought I am convinced it is the right one.

"Like most major decisions it was a bittersweet one. Some of you have been with us on park for many years and I have really enjoyed getting to know you all."

Mr Hagan commended the new owners for the way that they run holiday parks in the UK and around the world, saying that they will be able to take the park to 'the next level' in coming years.

Mr Hagan said: "The new owners are an amazing organisation with high standards and a friendly innovative managment team...

"With their significant resource and wealth of experience in holiday and residentilal parks in both the UK and UK, they will take Solway Holiday Village to the next level with their ideas and investment."
