A SLATE of full-scale productions will be provided at the Sands Centre this year by StagedRight, Carlisle's youth theatre.

This follows the group's overwhelming success in 2021/22 with shows such as Phantom of the Opera providing a level of talent onstage and in special effects and make-up, which almost rivalled West End productions.

Three extravaganzas have just been announced for the coming year.

As the only producers of these big West End shows and with the addition of their own studio theatre at Shaddonmill, StagedRight students can now perform anything from an intimate revue or drama night to full-scale musicals with lavish sets and orchestras.

Managing director, David McNeill is a professional theatre director, compère and event manager.

He said: "Following Covid shutdowns, StagedRight’s production of West Side Story was the first live show back at The Sands Centre.

"Since then, they have performed Saturday Night at The Sands, Matilda and most recently, The Phantom of the Opera.

"The coming season will be another big year for the group and tickets will be on sale soon."
