MAGISTRATES have approved a domestic violence protection order which bans a 47-year-old Carlisle woman from contacting a man for the next 28 days.

Nicola Milloy, of Lorne Crescent, Denton Holme, would almost certainly be arrested if she flouts the order, which was granted after an application was made at the city’s Rickergate court by Cumbria Police.

The order specifically bars her from pestering or intimidating the man named as the protected party. Nor can Milloy contact him, either directly or via a third party, or via social media.

Such orders are made when magistrates or a judge have been persuaded that the protected person has suffered violence or the threat of violence from the person the involved. Milloy was in court when the application was made.
