POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an alleged robbery in Carlisle.

Three males, in their teens, have been arrested in connection with the incident that took place on Bridge Street, near Sainsbury’s at 7pm (August 12).

A man in his thirties was threatened and had his bicycle stolen but remained unharmed, said police.

The three arrested were bailed while investigations continue.

A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: “Police are appealing for witnesses or people with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a robbery in Carlisle.

“Three people, all male and aged in their teens, have been arrested in connection with the incident in Caldewgate.

“It happened on Bridge Street, near the Sainsbury’s store, at about 7pm last night (August 12).

“A man in his thirties was threatened and his bicycle taken. He was not hurt.

“Officers are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has dashcam footage that may help the investigation to come forward.

“There were reports that three teenagers, dressed in black, were approaching cars and passers-by at this time.
