TWO west Cumbrian men have appeared before a court accused of 'going equipped for burglary' – with a brick and balaclava.
The defendants – Glen Scott, 48, of Bowness Court, Whitehaven; and Mark Clark, 51, of George Street, Whitehaven – are jointly accused of committing the offence on Wednesday, August 3, in Whitehaven.
The charge alleges that they were each caught with a 'brick and a balaclava' and that they had these items in connection with burglary.
Neither defendant entered pleas when they appeared before Carlisle’s Rickergate Magistrates’ Court and their case was adjourned after legal discussions.
Magistrates sent the case to Workington's Magistrates' Court for a hearing on August 17.
The two defendants were granted bail on condition that they do not associate with each other and both are to live and sleep each night at their respective addresses.
They were represented in court by defence lawyer Sean Harkin.
