MAGISTRATES have jailed a 32-year-old Carlisle man for failing to attend his unpaid work appointments.
Anthony Lee Queen, of Settle Close, Carlisle, was judged to be guilty of a 'wilful and persistent' failure to comply with his sentence, the city's Rickergate court was told.
He admitted breaching the unpaid work requirement of a community order that was imposed on December 14 last year by Carlisle’s Rickergate Magistrates Court for assaulting two police officers.
He was also convicted of causing criminal damage to a police van and using threatening behaviour.
Magistrates were told that he provided no evidence to the Probation Service of a reasonable excuse for missing two appointments.
Queen was jailed for a month.
