A rotary club’s charity golf day recently returned after a two-year absence.

Played at Brampton Golf Club, 36 teams competed in the Brampton and Longtown Rotary Club fundraiser, which was this year supporting Safety Net UK, based in Carlisle.

In mixed weather conditions, a good day was had by all competitors and the scoring was good, with a team score of 126 points winning, from a team entered by Cumbria Windoworks, one of the day’s sponsors.

Commenting on the event, organiser Simon Whitwham said: “It was great to get the charity golf day back on after missing 2020 and 2021 and Brampton and Longtown Rotary Club would sincerely like to thank all of the sponsors of the day and those that donated prizes to a very good raffle.

“This event is one of our key fundraising days and we are pleased to have raised £2600 for Safety Net.

“All players enjoyed their day and were very generous in purchasing raffle tickets and team mulligans, which gave a boost to the final total.

“Thanks to all involved in the day and to Brampton members for allowing us to have their course for most of the day.

“We hope to see everyone back next year.”
