POLICE have launched an arson probe after a vehicle was set on fire in Carlisle.

Yesterday, July 24 at about 11.55pm, police were called to an address in Mount Pleasant Road where a car had been set on fire by unknown suspects. 

Two fire engines also attended the incident on Mount Pleasant Road in Carlisle.

The fire involved a long wheel based van and a nearby fence.

Firefighters utilised three breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
