A THIRTY-nine-year-old Carlisle man has pleaded not guilty to an allegation that he threatened to “petrol bomb” a woman’s house.
Stephen Wilkinson formally denied the offence when he appeared before magistrates at the city’s Rickergate court. He also pleaded not guilty to a second offence, alleging that he assaulted the same woman.
Prosecutors say both offences were committed on July 14 in Carlisle.
After hearing legal discussions about the case, magistrates ruled that the defendant, of Blencowe Street, Denton Holme, should be remanded in custody until August 18 when he is next due in court.
A provisional trial date of September 5 was set by the court. Wilkinson was represented in court by defence lawyer Anthony Wilson.
