Roadworks are being carried out across Cumbria's network today and for the next few days.

Police have warned motorists that M6 resurfacing is still being carried out between J44 (Carlisle North) and J45 (Gretna) following an HGV crash. 

The M6 northbound is closed and diversions are in place. 

Road users are advised to follow the Solid Circle diversion symbol on road signs

• Exit the M6 northbound at J44 and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the A7 northbound

• Continue on the A7 northbound towards Longtown

• After leaving Longtown, turn left and join the A6071

• At Guardsmill Interchange (J45), turn right and continue onward journey on the A74(M)

Other roadworks include

• M6, from 10pm July 12 to 9pm July 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 42 to 43, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, Grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.

• A69, from 7pm July 18 to 7am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Low Row, one lane closed overnight to allow carriageway resurfacing.

• A69, from 7pm July 22 to 4am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Warwick on Eden to Corby Hill - traffic signals to carry out multiple locations.

Meanwhile Police are warning motorists that they are out and about enforcing road safety with ANPR cameras. 

Police said: Today our Road Safety Camera vans will be operating on the A65 between Kirkby Lonsdale & Kendal, the A683 between Sedbergh & Kirkby Lonsdale, the A6 Shap area and the M6 south.
