BOTH a mountain rescue team and the air ambulance service attended to a tripped walker at Buttermere, yesterday afternoon.
Cockermouth MRT attended the scene after they received a call to assist a walker who’d tripped whilst walking on the Buttermere Lakeshore path.
After assessing the casualty’s condition, the team asked for support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service, who flew them to Carlisle.
A spokesperson from Cockermouth MRT said: "Unfortunately, there are places where that path is high enough above the lakeshore that falling off it can be more serious that it first sounds - and having assessed the casualty’s condition, the team asked for support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service, who flew them to Carlisle.
"Thanks to all those who interrupted their walk to stop and help," they said.
