YEAR 11 students from St Benedict’s have celebrated their end of year prom, with a fabulous evening at Whitehaven Golf Club.

Students and staff came together for the first time in two years to enjoy an evening of awards, glamour and festivities.

Mrs Hannan, Head of Year 11, who organised the event, said: “We had a fantastic evening celebrating the end of five years at St Benedict's.

"The students, who all looked absolutely fantastic, enjoyed a lovely buffet and danced the night away.

“I am very proud of the young people that they have become and I am so pleased that we were able to spend such a lovely evening together.”

The evening started with photographs and mingling, followed by an awards ceremony and then food and dancing.

Awards given out on the night included Prom King and Prom Queen, which went to students Rhys Jackson and Sophie Douglas.

Emma Jackson, headteacher, said: “We had a wonderful evening. After two difficult years it was a delight to see our students enjoying themselves and representing our school perfectly."

Students will now enjoy their summer and return to school for their GCSE results in August.
