Copeland’s MP has been named transport minister as Boris Johnson fills vacant positions in his cabinet.
Trudy Harrison MP has been announced as Minister of State at the Department for Transport.
The Prime Minister has kicked off appointing new ministers to his Cabinet after more than 50 MPs resigned as ministers and aides over his leadership.
Mrs Harrison was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Transport in September 2021. She was appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary to Prime Minister Boris Johnson in December 2019.
Mr Johnson succumbed to the mounting pressure from his Government and resigned as Prime Minister earlier today.
He will remain in the position until a successor is in place, expected to be by the time of the Conservative Party conference in October.
