Police are appealing for information in regards to two ornate dogs being stolen from the plinth above the door of a listed building last year.  

The dogs went missing from a Grade II listed building, Grove Cottage, situated in Great Corby - meaning the theft would be classed as Heritage Crime. 

The incident was reported on February 14 2021, however it is believed the theft would have occurred the evening before or overnight. 

The dogs have been described as feature that adds great character to the property that was built in 1830. 

It is hoped that someone, somewhere has seen these dogs given the time that has passed and may be able to help to recover them. 

A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: The incident was reported to police on the February 14 at 12:23.

"The theft would have taken place the evening before or overnight.

"The police reference number to include if anyone does have information about the dogs or the person who took them is, log 70 of the February 2021.

"Reports can be made via www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it by calling 101.

"Information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity, CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111," they said.
