CUMBRIA POLICE ANPR cameras are out and about in Penrith, A7, M6 and and Carlisle monitoring traffic today (Thursday July 7)
A Police spokesman said: "Today our Road Safety Camera vans will be operating on the M6 north, the A66 between Penrith & Stainmore, the A7 between Longtown & Carlisle and Monkhill.

ROADWORKS
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A74(M), from 9pm June 25 to 9pm July 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 45, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, Grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.
• M6, from 8pm March 6 to 6pm July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 42, Lane closure and closure of slip roads for lighting renewal.
And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:
• M6, from 10pm July 12 to 9pm July 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 42 to 43, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, Grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.
